The village St Martin of Cluze is a gateway of Trièves. Thanks to its proximity to Grenoble, its population doubled within 20 years.
This historical village is built around a Romane chapel dating back from the XIIth century (St Christophe de Paquier).

Emile Gilioli (known atrist sculptor of the 20th century) lived there from 1942 to 1945 then episodically during many years. Besides, it wished to be buried in the village.
His house and in particular his workshop are today opened to public, permanently exposing the course of the sculptor and the huge diversity of his artistic activity.
